RE: Cummins Engines

I'm not sure of the difference either, but I'm running a 400 ISL in a 42 footer towing a 5700lb toad. I'm very pleased with it's performance. I don't think I would want less that a 400 HP (now the're 425) in anything 40 or 42 foot. This of course is just my opinion.

RE: Where to find Calgon?

It depends on where you are. If your in a part of the country where they have naturally soft water, nobody carries it! We just spent three months around West palm Beach and none of the Walmarts had it. Got up to Augusta, GA and all the Walmarts had it.... The liquid is easier to use. One bottle is good for two cleanings. You can also order it on line but I forgot the name of the website.

RE: fleetwood warranty??

The warranty on Tiffin Motorhomes for structural integrity is 10 years, with a five year warranty against delamination. He also has the standard one year bumper to bumper warranty. I happen to be at the plant this week. Their still producing 11 motorhomes a day. (down from 13 a day)

RE: Washer/Dryer Opinions Please

Agree with Norm. We full time and have the two Whirlpool units. My wife loves them. If you can afford to give up the extra storage space you won't regret it. Were in a 42 footer and it's just the two of us and we have plenty of room, but them Tiffin is famous for building in maxium storage space.

RE: MONACO OR TIFFIN

Been full timing in our 2007 42 foot Allegro Bus since Aug. 12 of 07. Haven't had to go back to our dealer or the factory for anything. Had a slide-out relay failure and Tiffin over-nighted me one. Monaco and Newmar both good companys and were on our short list. We felt both were over priced compared with what you got for your dollar in the Allergo Bus. Plus, didn't like Newmar's policy of refusing to send parts directly to the owner. They will only send a part to a dealer. No logic in that policy. Plus, according to other posts both on this website and others, both Monaco and Newmar have hundreds of employee laid off due lack of sales. I read a post on a different website that on Feb 7th, Monaco's stock droped 8.36% or almost one dollar a share. Tiffin's factory is going great guns and their Phaeton model was the top selling class a diesel pusher of 2007.
Good luck in your search.

RE: Any way to avoid Good Sam junk mail?

I did it by phone. I did have to call them a second time but all I've gotten in the last 6 months is the Highways magazine, which is what I asked them to continue sending me.

RE: Clothes Washing in Coach Combo Unit vs Washer & Dryer

We have the seperate whirlpool washer and dryer and my wife loves it. I think that the washer has about twice the capacity of the combo units. It's like doing your laundry at home, just doing slightly smaller loads. A combo unit is certainly better than nothing if your not willing to give up the storage space. we full time but are in a 42 footer and have plenty of storage. We found that Tiffin gives you deeper overhead storage compartments than any other units that were in our price range.

RE: 45 ft tiffin zephyr

We went with tiffin, but TS was on our short list. Have met bob tiffin at two different shows. what a gentleman. TS has a great reputation and you won't go wrong with them, but they have only been producing motorized rv's for about seven years. tiffin has been doing it for over 30 years. also, it seemed that everything on a ts was an option, or at least that's the way it was when we were looking at them seriously about three years ago. I just don't think you should have to pay extra for slide-out covers, or window awnings, or a patio awning. we just felt that you got more for your money with the tiffin bus. Plus nobody, and I mean NOBODY else in the industry gives you a ten year warranty on the 'house' structure and a five year warranty against delamination....
good luck in your search. It's took us about five years of research and nine rv shows to decide!!
